    20. How long can I stay?
The last day on which you may enter or be in the UK is the expiry date on the visa. For visitors, this is normally a maximum of 6 months. This does not mean that you can stay for 6 months from your date of entry, the 6 months starts from the date printed on your visa.
      Top

    21. Can I use the visa to enter the UK more than 1 time?

The majority of visa applications made to the UK Border Agency do not require an interview. In some cases we may require further information which may mean that you should provide additional documents or come in for an interview. Before we see your application we cannot say for sure whether an interview will be required. If we do require one, we will arrange with you a suitable time and day for this.
      Top

    28. Why do I have to wait for an interview date?
When a visa officer cannot make a decision about issuing you a visa immediately, you may be asked to attend an interview. Though we aim to do this within 10 days, this may be longer, depending on when you apply and how many other interviews we have booked that month. Always try to make your application well in advance of your intended travel date.

    29. What if I have been refused a visa or entry to the United Kingdom before?
If we have referred a previous visa application; or you have been refused a visa for entry into the UK by an immigration officer or an extension of your visa, it does not necessarily mean that you will not be allowed to enter the UK again, but it is very important that you tell the UK Border Agency visa officer of this and that you indicate this on your application form. Such applications are likely to take more time to process. Note: If you would not normally need a visa, you will not be prevented from travelling to the UK, but you may have problems when you arrive. If you provide false information, documents or passports in support of your visa application, you will be refused a visa and all future applications will be refused for up to 10 years.

    30. What if I have been refused a visa for or entry to another country?

The UK Border Agency has no control over when your appeal will be heard. It can take some time and depends on a number of things. This can include the type of case (visitor, settlement) and whether you have asked for the case to be heard orally, so your sponsor can give evidence. Visitor appeals are usually heard within 6 months of being lodged; for other categories, including settlement, it can take up to 9 months.

    33. What happens if I win my appeal?
Your determination will be sent from the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal to the UK Border Agency in the United Kingdom, who then sends it to Manila. It can take several weeks before this arrives with the visa officer at the British Embassy in Manila. You should allow at least 6 weeks from the date, you or your representative, received your appeal determination before you contact the UK Border Agency at the British Embassy in Manila. The visa officer in Manila cannot process your visa application until they get the copy of your determination from official sources. For more information and for contact details please see the 'appeals' page on this website.
